Men's Lacrosse

Men's lacrosse

The biggest difference between men's and women's lacrosse is the physical element. In men's lacrosse, physical contact between hip and shoulders is allowed. It is possible to hit the stick and gloves of the opponent with your stick. The aim of physical contact is to get the ball, so it is only allowed when the ball is close. The men wear 'gear' to protect you from pain and injuries.

The game is played with ten players: one goalie, three defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers. Unique to this sport is the combination of speed, physical contact, and finesse, which makes it suitable for everyone. Everyone can express their unique skills: if you are a bit smaller you have the advantage that you can pass the defense lines and when you are a bit bigger you are a good defender.

In the Netherlands we play matches of 4x20 minutes.
